Class photos are available at a cost of £5 each. If you would like to purchase your child’s class photograph, please send money in an envelope with your child’s name and class clearly written on the front. Please also state how many photos you would like to order.
The deadline for orders will be Friday 7th January 2022. Please note that we will not be able to take any further orders after this date.
As you are aware, every Christmas we aim to support the local community in the form of care packages.
This festive season, we aim to bless residents of local care homes in and around Neath Port Talbot. We would like to ensure each vulnerable resident can be bless with a care package, kindly donated by you and your family. This year, the need to support those that are vulnerable is greater than ever before. So, each gift will be greatly appreciated.
A few suggestions to help you fill your care package:
Please can you pack your care package and hand it into the school office by the first week of December so that they can be distributed in time for Christmas.
We are currently working really hard towards our Silver Rights Respecting Schools Award (RSSA).
Each class has a Children’s Rights representative who will attend meetings to learn about the Articles and to feed back information to their classes. For more information on this and our other pupil voice groups, please visit our Pupil Voice page.

These are due to take place on November 20th 2020.
The school nurses will be wearing scrubs and personal protective equipment (PPE) this year, such as a mask and face visor. This is in line with national Covid-19 infection prevention guidance.
As the use of PPE may be off-putting for some children, please watch the three-minute video where the school nurse Sian Richards directly addresses pupils in simple terms. She also demonstrates the nasal spray for those who haven’t had it before.

As a result of the current situation, homework will now be paperless. Every teacher will be uploading homework to “J2Homework” which is accessed via the HWB platform.
We appreciate that many parents, particularly those with children in the younger classes, will be unfamiliar with HWB. We have therefore put together a parent’s guide to using HWB and accessing J2Homework. We encourage everyone to familiarise themselves with this system as, should any form of school closure occur in the future, this is also how home learning tasks will be set.
In addition to J2Homework, there are also guides for parents on the use of JIT. JIT is the main program used in the Foundation Phase (Nursery-Year 2). We would encourage you to sit with your child and explore this system if you have not used it before. There are many programs available including write, paint, turtle (coding) and graphing programs.
Every child has been allocated a HWB username and password. If you have lost your child’s information, please contact your child’s class teacher.

Every child in the school has their own HWB account with their individual username and password. As part of their HWB account, each child has an email account using Microsoft Outlook. This year, your child’s report will be emailed to their email account. This is a quick guide on how to access Outlook via HWB.
